Patrick Wilson Obituary
Patrick Earl Wilson, 74, of Wooster, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster after a period of declining health.
Pat was born on October 4, 1950 in Wooster to Richard R. and Norma Jean (Cusack) Wilson and was a 1969 graduate of Wooster High School. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1969 – 1975 and on Sept. 16,1972 married Portia E. Gerber who survives. He worked for Snyder Brothers Concrete Paving from 1972 – 1995 and then for the Wayne County Highway Dept. from 1995 until retiring in 2014. Pat was an avid deer hunter who enjoyed hunting mushrooms, cutting wood and riding motorcycles. He enjoyed fishing trips to Canada and he loved entertaining friends and family in his shed.
Surviving is his wife, Portia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Connie Wilson of Wooster and Jeff and Kathy Wilson of Holmesville; sister-in-law, Pam Gerber of Wooster; nieces and nephews, Stacy Legg, Christa (Scott) Haven, Tammi Curtis, Brian (Amber) Wilson, Milan Sigler, Will (Caitlin) Gerber and Katie Gerber and 10 great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law, Linda Sigler and brother-in-law, Dale Gerber.
Friends will be received on Thursday, March 6th from10 – 11:30 a.m. at Wayne Presbyterian Church in Wooster. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Church Cemetery with dinner following at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691. Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the caring staff at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.
